Today you are going to be creating a toolkit of all the features used in a diary entry. This will help you when you come to your write your own diary and give you the 'tools' (like what I did there ) you need!
TASK 1: READ AN EXAMPLE OF DOON'S DIARY
Below is an example of a diary entry from the character Doon. Read it and think about what makes it a good example of a diary. Why is it effective?
TASK 2: CREATE A TOOLKIT
Use the features that you have found, to create a toolkit. You can choose to present this whichever way is best to help you with your learning.
You could; create a poster, write it in a table, draw an image of a toolkit and label it or even write it as a table.
This is going to be your own resource to support yourself!
Parents, if your child is finding this a little tricky, below I have shown two examples of how to do this. It is best for the children to have a go first before looking at these but they can be used if your child is struggling or you want to check that they are on the right path.
