As you know, we use Talk4Writing in school and every time we start a new genre of writing we do a cold task to see what we know before we start our learning. Miss Jones will then read your cold task and give you writing targets. I will then compare it to the 'hot write' you write at the end to see how much you have learnt and to see if you have achieved your target/s.
Our new genre is: Myths
LI: To write a myth (cold write)
Sorry this task may seem vague but unfortunately that is the nature of the task and the children are used to this as part of our Talk4writing approach. It is only to assess what they know, if it is wrong it is not a problem that is why we are going to learn it. I only expect their writing and effort to be of a level I would see in class.
What is a myth?Video used in the lesson input for those that would like to watch it again.
