RAINFOREST ANIMAL INFORMATION
Due 11th May
Year 4 have settled back into life at school after the Easter break and it is great to see their enthusiasm for our new topic The Rainforest.
As part of this topic we are writing non-chronological reports about animals of the Rainforest.
For their homework over the next few weeks I would like the children to pick an animal that lives in the Rainforest in South America and research it, finding out as much information as possible. This piece of homework could be written as a fact-file, bullet point list of just a paragraph of information. On Tuesday the 11th of May the children can bring in their information that they have gathered and they will begin independently starting their report. Once this has been written and edited the children will get to present their work to each other.
Really looking forward to seeing what they come up with at home.
Over the Christmas holiday please can you complete a minimum of 30minutes of times table rock stars. Our topic for next term is the Shang Dynasty of China. I would like you to research a monument of China and create a report, poster, or miniaturised version of it. Learn facts about it ready to present to your classmates on the first week back. This will form the basis of our learning.
These are the Year 4 homework expectations:
-Reading with a child and listening to your child read is always encouraged! Developing readers need this support. Reading independently- minimum 20 minutes three times a week. To ensure good comprehension skills, children should also be asked questions about the text and be able to answer these questions independently.
- A Maths task will be set weekly in order to consolidate learning from the week.
- English will be set weekly in order to consolidate learning in SPAG or English. - Times tables practice as detailed.
- Spellings will be set on a weekly basis
- If you could please submit the children's completed homework via email that would be fabulous, my emails is email@example.com
