Daily Reading- 27.04.2020

Good morning and enjoy this weeks learning Penguins! This week, I want you to try to complete your 'Year 5 Recommended Reading List' book as a challenge by the end of this week. Some of you have let me know which books you are reading- there have been some excellent choices so keep going- I know you are able to complete this!

In addition, I have added one of our '60 Second Reads' below with the guidance for these as well. This week, all of our reads centre around a new topic- 'World War II'. I think this is a particularly important topic to learn about and links well with the History topic you learnt this year.

Finally, I have added in another one of our 'Emoji quizzes' for you to complete by the end of this week. This is just something which is a 'little bit of fun' and will get you chatting as a family! This weeks one is Disney films- please see the attached word document and good luck!

English learning- 27.04.2020

Hi everyone, Miss Morgan here!

Since it has been a while since I have been in school and I haven't had the opportunity to teach or even meet some of you, I think it might be a good idea for you to tell me a little bit about yourselves.

For your English work today, I would like you to use a form of writing to tell me about yourself. This could be: a letter, poem, song (a rap would be amazing!)  or any other way that you can think possible!

You can be as creative as you like and it would be brilliant if you could email these to me to have a look at by the end of the week.

I look forward to learning more about you!

Science Learning- 27.04.2020

For the next few weeks, we are going to look at different Scientists and Inventors in our afternoon Science learning, particularly focusing on periods of scientific discovery. The first person we are going to look at is David Attenborough.

Read through and look at all of the information below about David Attenborough. Having found out more about him and what he does, could you write a letter to him? If you send me the letter, I will post them altogether. Questions should centre around his life and his work from what you have learnt...
