Maths Resources- Understand how to divide by 10.

Attached below are some of the resources I will be using during the 'live' input for the children's Maths lessons tomorrow. In addition, attached are the question resources I will be working through with them during the lesson.

 

The 'live lesson' recording will be added to this area after the session. Please allow time for this to be added if you are not able to make the 'live input' from 9:45- 10:15 tomorrow.

Spelling Pattern to Learn- Short /i/ spelt using 'y'

We will practise the above spelling pattern today in our 'live' session (starting at 11:00). You can practise along with the rest of the class, then try some of the games and resources outlined below. Good luck!

 

You do not need to complete all of them, as we will be looking at them later on this week as well...

English Resources- To use sensory descriptions.

For the next two weeks, the children will solely be learning about this book 'Escape from Pompeii'. It is a brilliant book and one I used last year. Below is a copy of the book and some resources to go with their learning. By the end of today, they really need to be developing their understanding of the story more fully, using the various resources I have provided for them (one being the picture of the book and being a transcript).

 

Over the course of this week, as I add the 'live' Zoom lessons, children will be able to hear me telling the story in the classroom. I hope they enjoy this learning...

ANY AFTERNOON BASED LEARNING RESOURCES WILL ALWAYS BE ADDED IN PREPARATION FOR THE AFTERNOON LEARNING, WHICH IS SELF-GUIDED.

 

CHILDREN SHOULD LOOK THROUGH THESE AND JUST 'PICK AND CHOOSE' SOME LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES TO TAKE PART IN! THESE WILL APPEAR IN THE THREAD BELOW...

Reading Skill Learning

This term, we are learning about the Romans. During our '60 second reads' for this week, I want you to gain more of a knowledge and understanding about the Romans. Attached below is your 60 second read for today.

 

The aim of this is to speed up your word reading whilst also developing some key comprehension skills. Good luck Pandas!

Monday Afternoon Learning- Science

Our new topic for Science is 'Animals including Humans'.  Look at the images below:

This is an 'Eatwell Plate'. Have a look at the Eatwell plate on the websites attached below- what is an Eatwell plate and what does it do?

 

Look at the attached lesson Powerpoint to see some of the types of food we need to give us nutrition.

 

Your task (or tasks) for this afternoon are below. Try to do at least one of them:

 

Task 1: Design an 'eatwell plate' for yourself. Show me all of the different types of food you eat and try to place them in the correct category of food.

 

Task 2: Research an animal of your choice. Can you draw an eatwell plate for them, showing the food they eat in the different sections. Does this tell you more about the type of animal they are?

 

Task 3: Could you design a healthy menu for an animal of your choice? Is Mr Burchett able to guess which animal you have chosen?
