Term 6 - Miracles

Lesson 1 - The Storm at Sea

Lesson 1:

To know that Jesus showed great power when he calmed the sea. 
 

To reflect on the fact that we can ask Jesus to help us when we are afraid.

Questions to think about:

How would you have felt when the storm came?

Why do you think they woke Jesus?
Why did Jesus calm the storm?

 

Activity: 

Reflect on a time when you have been scared, think about how you can ask Jesus for help. Draw a picture of this and write down ways in which you can ask Jesus for help.

Jesus may not be able to take away what is making you afraid but can help you cope in the situation. Sometimes he may help those around you help and comfort you.

To think about what makes people help each other and reflect on how we can help one another.

Refer back to our saying at school: what would Jesus do



 

Activity: Create a poster showing us all the different ways you help your family at home.

Activity: Create your house and stretcher to act out the story.

Lesson 4 - Jesus heals the blind man

Lesson 4: Cure of the blind man.

To know that Jesus helps us and gives us people to help us. 
To show trust in Jesus and to thank those who help us. 

 

Jesus gives us people to help us,

They are nurses, doctors, dinner ladies, family, teachers, friends etc. 
 

Activity: Create thank you cards for people who help you.

Lesson 5 - The Wedding at Cana

Lesson 5 - The Wedding at Cana.

To know that Jesus performed his first miracle at the request of his mother. 
Reflect that Mary our Mother will ask Jesus to help us.

Activity: Draw a scene from ‘The Wedding at Cana’ and then stick speech bubbles around and write what people might be saying.

Questions to think about:

What do you think the guests thought when they heard about the miracle?
What do you think Mary wants us to learn from this miracle?
