Year 2 - Fireflies
Welcome to Y2: Fireflies Class
Teacher: Mrs May
Teaching Assistants: Mrs Wraight
‘World Book Day’
We enjoyed learning new vocabulary in the key stage 1 vocabulary parade.
We were inspired by our story ‘The Word Collector’. We collected words from our school woodland area. We then used the words we had collected to write our stories in the afternoon.
We informed our peers of the meaning of the words we were dressed as today by creating vocabulary posters.
‘KCSP Science Day’
We enjoyed our science day today. We continued learning about the diets and food chains of animals. We were excited to set up our own simple test to help answer the enquiry question ‘How can we stop an apple going brown once it has been cut open?”
Fireflies P.E. day will continue to be a Friday so please send your child into school wearing their school uniform and bring in their swimming kit. I do remind everyone to please ensure your child comes to school with :
A water bottle
Jacket
Book bag
Following the recent newsletter regarding the change in homework, passwords for NumBots/TTRS and spelling shed are in the front cover of your child’s reading record books. I will be adding additional homework tasks to the class page on a weekly basis which you may wish your child to complete. These will help consolidation of the weeks learning or preparation for future learning.
