Learning Showcase
We have continued with our study of the Baker by the Sea, writing letters to the local council to support the rebuild of the village after a flood. The children have explored using the present perfect tense, using conjunctions and emotive vocabulary.
Our whole class reader is The Humans which explores inventions from various civilisations and the impact of these in life today. So far, we have unpicked some key vocabulary and it’s meaning. Spelling Pattern of the Week – words with the “ous” suffix.
We have been converting mixed and improper fractions. The children have used bar models, number lines, and tested their multiplication knowledge to help solve fraction problems.
We followed the story of Theo the Cocoa bean from farm to fork.
The children really enjoyed tasting biscuits in preparation for their design brief; “Design and make a biscuit for £1.99.”
Music – It was a Samba celebration as we explored musical instruments and dance moves from this genre.
We had great fun interacting with other academy schools to learn about sound around the school.
In RE – We are learning about Jesus our Saviour and thinking about different qualities he had.
