Term 5

This term our topic is...

We have had a fantastic term 5 in the Orcas Class. The children have thoroughly enjoyed learning through stories and have really shown off their imaginations in Drawing Club. Of course, we finished this week on a very high, high after going on our first class trip together to the Rare Breeds Center. We are pleased to say that we are very proud of the whole class for their behaviour on the trip as they all did the school proud with their lovely manners and enthusiasm to learn. They all received a Head Teacher's Award in the celebration assembly. Well done Orcas! Take a look below for some photos from the trip. We wish you all a very happy half term and we will see you back on Monday 3rd of June. Enjoy!

Term 4

Welcome to Term 4 everybody! This term our topic will be Space.

We have started this term by reading The Darkest Dark by Chris Hadfield. We have enjoyed learning a little bit about Chris and watching some of his videos filmed in Space.

Term 3

Welcome back Orcas and a very happy New Year to you all. We hope you had a fantastic Christmas and enjoyed spending time with your family. Thank you very much for all of our presents. We appreciated them all!

This term we will be learning all about Fairy Tales.

We have started the Term reading The Gingerbread Man and we have had lots of fun so far. In English we have been learning the story, adapting the ending of the story and making maps of the route the Gingerbread Man ran. We loved baking our own Gingerbread Men and were so surprised on Thursday to discover that they had been hidden by a real Gingerbread man who had visited the class (see video below). We were very quick to make lost posters, write letters to other people around the school in attempt to help find and return out Gingerbread Men. Luckily, we were able to find and return them back to our classroom.

Jesus Chose Disciples

We enjoyed acting out the story of Jesus choosing His disciples James, John, Peter and Andrew. We read the story of how the fishermen had been fishing all day with no joy of catching fish. When Jesus asked them to fish once again, they did and there were so many fish that they had to call for help to lift the nets out of the water. We reflected on being followers of Jesus and how we can share our love for Him with others.

Fun in Maths

This term we have been busy in Maths with lots of measuring and time. We have also been working on our numbers and counting.
