Learning Showcase
Term 1: Completed!
Wow! The Flamingoes have successfully completed their first term of school, and what a great start to their school journey they have had. We are both extremely proud of all of them and look forward to seeing them after a nice break next week.
This term in class, we started Drawing Club. The books we have enjoyed include the following...

In Drawing Club, the children have enjoyed creating actions for new vocabulary and using the sounds we’ve learned in Phonics to write their codes. We have been impressed by their creativity and imagination as they bring their drawings to life with these codes.
We have also been busy during Maths, focusing on numbers 1-5. We have been developing our counting skills, subitising abilities, and number formation. Here are some photos to celebrate the amazing learning that has been taking place.
Welly Wednesday
On Wednesday mornings, we make the most of our beautiful school grounds by going on a welly walk. This term, we have looked for signs of Autumn, made nature crowns, compared patterns of tree trunks with bark rubbings, and reflected on the wonderful world God has made for us. We are very proud of the firepit the Flamingoes built themselves, with a little help from John (Miss Ireland's dad) during their welly walks. They have worked incredibly hard as a team and were ecstatic that, in the last week of term, they were able to have a real fire while enjoying campfire songs, hot chocolate, and biscuits. It was a highlight of the whole term!
As the weather gets colder and wetter, please could we ask that you send in waterproofs that can stay in school. These can be used for our welly walks but also when we are playing with water and in the mud kitchen to keep school uniforms dry.
We hope you enjoy the week off!
Noah's Ark - We read the story of Noah and the Ark to link with a school display based on our Catholic value "Peace"
What a wonderful start to a full time timetable we have had.
Our Fantastic Flamingoes have been learning each other's names, sharing their special skills through a class rhyme and learning lots of songs!
This week we will have our first PE lesson, and Welly Wednesday. Your child needs to wear their PE kit to school on Wednesday, they will remain in this for the day. They also need a pair of wellies, preferably pegged together and clearly labeled.
Fantastic Flamingoes!
We have had a lovely first week of school down in the Flamingoes Class. We are feeling very proud of all of the children for how well they have settled into the school routine, shown kindness to each other, made friends, had good manners and how brilliant they are at tidying. We have asked Mrs Bennett if we can change the class name to 'Fantastic Flamingoes,' because they truly are a fantastic class. We hope you feel just as proud as we do!
Here are some photos of us being busy and having fun.
For the week ahead:
- Please remember to send in wellies. We will start our Welly Wednesdays this week.
- We also have PE on Wednesdays so the children can come into school wearing PE kits (see weekly newsletter).
- Please make sure everything is labeled so we can help children find their belongings.
- Please remember to check your emails as you will find the weekly newsletter from Mrs Bennett with useful information. This is usually sent out on Sunday evenings.
- A morning snack is provided for children in Year R so you do not need to send in snacks. If you do wish to provide your child with a snack, this must be fruit or vegetables. Thank you!
