St. Teresa's Day Celebrations - October 2023

Every year, we take time to celebrate the feast day of our patron saint, St. Teresa of Avila. This year, as a whole school, we made our way to our parish church for a special mass, during which our newest Avilites were commissioned for their new roles - visit our 'Avilites' page to find out more about them and their roles. Throughout the afternoon, the children all learnt about the history of St. Teresa.

Orca & Zebra Buddy Assembly - October 2023

This year, we have seen the return of 'buddies'! Since the beginning of the new term, our Zebras have been visiting the newest members of our school to help them settle and feel welcome. During this time, the Zebras discovered lots of interesting things about their buddies which they shared with the rest of the school and their families on Thursday 5th October during an assembly.

Year 2 Harvest Assembly - October 2023

On Monday 2nd October, our wonderful Fireflies presented their Harvest Assembly to our school and their families. They taught us about how people around the world celebrate the Harvest and how important it is to say thank you to God for his gifts. We extend our 'thank yous' to all of our very generous families who provided donations that were shared with our parish church who will distribute this to people within our community.

KCSP Beginning of the Year Mass - September 2023

On Wednesday 27th September, our Zebras represented our school at the KCSP Beginning of the Year Mass at Aylesford Priory. We enjoyed a wonderful, outdoor mass, at which all of the schools within KCSP attended. This was then followed by a picnic lunch in the grounds before travelling back. A great time was had by all.

Induction & Beginning of the Year Mass - September 2023

On Friday 8th September, we attended a very special whole school mass at our parish church to mark the start of the new academic year. We were very lucky to have Bishop Paul Hendricks officiate the mass for us, during which Mrs Bennett, our new Headteacher, was inducted in to her new role. Many of our community were able to join us, including Mrs Whittle, Mrs McBennett and many more from KCSP, in addition to previous Headteachers and friends from our sister school here in Ashford.

Crowning of Mary at St Teresa's - May 2023

On Friday 19th May, we took time to celebrate Mary, the Mother of Jesus and us all, in her special month of May.

To mark this special occasion, we were all invited to bring an offering of fresh flowers, which were later blessed by Fr. Piotr during our blessing service in the afternoon. Not only did Fr. Piotr bless our flowers, but he also took the time to bless Mary herself and her crown of flowers that we placed with her.  Our altar was adorned with a huge range of beautiful flowers to mark just how special she is to us all.

The Blessing of Our Sacred Heart of Jesus - May 2023

On Thursday 18th May, after our Ascension Day mass, Fr. Piotr joined us for our walk back to school to view and bless our new 'Sacred Heart of Jesus' statue.

Along with our Avilites group, Fr. Piotr lead us in a short reflection and time of prayer as he blessed our special statue.

Next time you visit us, please do take a moment to view our statue - we are incredibly proud to have Him watching over our school, guiding and keeping us safe always.

Crowning of Mary at our Parish Church - May 2023

On Sunday 7th May 2023, our Year 5 children attended our parish Sunday mass to lead the liturgy. During this mass, our children took part in the Crowning of Mary.

Jesus Has Arrived!

After lots of organisation from Fr. Piotr & Mr Gizzi, we are very excited to announce the arrival of a Sacred Heart of Jesus statue that has been kindly donated by Fr. Piotr & the parish of St. Teresa of Avila. We have chosen to give him pride of place right outside the front of our main office. Please do take time to admire him when you visit us next.

Year 5 Easter Pageant - March 2023

Year 5 perform the Passion Play at St Teresa’s Church!

We were so proud of our Year 5 Panda children who have worked incredibly hard over the past few weeks to prepare for our Easter Pageant.

Joined by the children from our school, staff, parents, families and our parish community, we all made our way to St Teresa’s church to see the children perform the Easter story.

An enormous amount of thanks to the support of Mr Lines and Mr Gizzi, the children had learned all their lines and projected their voices beautifully throughout the church.  Amazing acting skills were on show as the children sensitively and beautifully took us through the Stations of the Cross.  The retelling was an emotional experience for all.

A huge well done to everyone involved in this event.  You represented our school so well and we are incredibly proud of you all.

Avilite Lenten Reflections - Lent 2023

In the lead up to Easter, our Avilites have been very busy preparing and delivering Lenten Reflections for our school family.

We based our reflections on our knowledge from our Ash Wednesday service, during which Fr. Piotr taught us about the three themes throughout Lent: prayer, fasting & almsgiving.

Each reflection was carefully planned on the foundation of scripture which linked to each of our themes. Our Avilite's reflection on this was then shared with the children, along with a message for how others can live out God's message and handwritten prayers.

We are incredibly proud of our Avilites for their achievements this term. They have been model pupils when delivering their reflections and have taken the time to think carefully about the content.

Our Ash Wednesday Service - February 2023

On Wednesday 22nd of February we celebrated Ash Wednesday as a school family in our hall.

Fr. Piotr and Fr. Wojciech came to school to distribute ashes and celebrate this special day with us. They taught us that Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent and how Lent is a time for praying, fasting and almsgiving.

"Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.

Psalm 27:14
